Green: Copenhagen’s favourite colour for MINDblowing meetings

Copenhagen holds the world record for consumption of organic food and 63% of the city’s hotel rooms are eco-certified. The city's meetings product is so green that the chances are your meeting will be sustainable, whether that is your intention or not!

Organising a sustainable event in Copenhagen is no great challenge. The Danish capital was the first city ever to host an eco-certified international political summit, the UN’s Climate Change Conference, COP 15, in 2009. This year Denmark holds the Presidency of the European Union, which has been organised according to the sustainable event management system, ISO20121, making it the most sustainable presidency ever.

Engage, excite and encourage
For years, the Danish Meetings industry has proactively worked with identifying and developing new tools to manage the ever-changing demands of future meetings and conferences. The answer is clear: MINDblowing Meetings that engage, excite and encourage!

The Danish meetings are based on Meetovation - an innovative meetingdesign concept developed by the Danes with the ambition to increase the return value of any kind of business event held. This goal will be accomplished through the following 4 elements: participation, physical setup, local spices and green thinking. So Copenhagen, recently ranked the greenest major city in Europe, is the perfect place to experience such a green and MINDblowing meeting.

Strong sustainable profile
In Copenhagen it is easier to hold a sustainable event than a non-sustainable one. As much as 63% of all Copenhagen's hotel rooms hold an official eco-certification - the highest percentage of any capital city. Also, the majority of the city’s meetings venues have a strong sustainable profile and are Green Key certified.

The city council is aiming to make Copenhagen the world’s first CO2-neutral capital by 2025, and thus a global environmental leader. On a daily basis, 55 % of all Copenhageners commute by bike. The city boasts the busiest cycle lane in the world, used by 36,000 cyclists every day. Alternatively, you can easily walk, use the city's eco-friendly efficient public transport, or take a CO2-neutral or electric taxi.

Riding the green wave
More restaurants, cafes and even hotels are riding the “green wave”, taking the city to a whole new level of eco-friendliness at all price levels. Fresh produce from the Danish countryside and the sea is inherent in Denmark’s culinary success. The country has 10 restaurants with Michelin stars, knocking the socks of its near neighbours.

The message is clear: Denmark is the place to go, to stage inspiring, innovative and sustainable MINDblowing meetings with a greater return on meeting investment.
